Fishing in the rain..

Posted January 10, 2009

Even though we've been having great weather since the begining of the year, yesterday was particularly cold and rainy, something quite unusual for Lanzarote, but even so, we had a good day's fishing on the Katfish.

We didn't have a single bite while trolling to our anchoring spot, but once there we caught several red bream, black sea bream and common two banded seabream. We were in the middle of this fishing frenzy, when one of our clients asked for help as we has hooked to a bigger fish; it turned out to be a beautiful white trevally of three and a half kilo. Just as we were gaffing it a british tourist hooked a manta ray, which we realeased after a twenty minute fight. It weighted around therty kilos. Just before we headed back to Puerto Calero we caught three atlantic bonito (2 to 3,5 kilo) using live bait. Today the sun is shinning again.
