Atlantic Bonito for Xmas..

Posted December 23, 2008

Traditionally Christmas in the Canary Islands begins the friday right before Christmas' eve, as it's usually in that weekend that things begin to get busier over here with plenty of tourists arriving in the islands. This year looks quieter than any other, but friday 19th was busy enough out there in the sea. We began the day with four beautiful atlantic bonitos while trolling that cheered everyone up until we arrived to our anchoring spot. Once there, and using sardine as bait, we caught another three as well as a small white trevally (which we put back into the sea) and plenty of black bream. Truth being said, we could feel that everyone was in an excellent mood all day; perhaps Christmas did begin that day.
